In a collaborative effort, the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, along with operatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and local vigilantes, executed a successful operation in Kabbi State.
During the early hours of Tuesday, the joint forces conducted a raid on a terrorist camp in Sabon Gari village, situated in the Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Capt. Yahya Ibrahim, the acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations 1 Brigade Gusau, reported that the operation resulted in the elimination of one terrorist and the rescue of four kidnapped individuals.
He said, “The raid operation was conducted in the identified terrorists’ hideout at Sabon Gari village in THE Shanga Local Government Area in Kebbi State.
“During the operation, troops neutralised one of the terrorists and extricated four kidnap victims. The troops also recovered three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 142 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and two pairs of camouflage uniforms.”
He added that all the rescued victims have been safely reunited with their families, marking a significant success for the security forces.
Meanwhile, the troops continue their efforts to track down the wounded and fleeing terrorists, maintaining their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region.
