Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, has clarified her relationship with her colleague Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz.
During an interview on MTV Base Africa’s “Official Naija Top 10,” the songwriter firmly stated that she and Falz never dated, dispelling the rumours that their fans had conjured up back then.
“He did a verse on my song, ‘JAMB Question Remix’. And I was like, ‘Ah! Me and this guy, there is a vibe there.’ So, we did ‘Soldier’, and everybody was like, the chemistry is so amazing.” She said.
Simi, who is now married to Adekunle Kosoko, also known as Adekunle Gold or AG Baby, explained that the speculations about their relationship were based on fans’ imaginations rather than any truth. She emphasized that they never portrayed themselves as a couple or encouraged those assumptions.
Reflecting on their music collaboration, Simi mentioned the “Chemistry” album, which they worked on together. She revealed that the name and concept of the album were suggested by fans, and they decided to go along with it as a strategic move. However, she clarified that they never actually claimed to be in a romantic relationship.
In a candid revelation, the ‘Duduke’ crooner disclosed that she used to earn between N5,000 to N10,000 as a gospel artist before transitioning to secular music. Simi and her husband, Adekunle Gold, recently teased their fans about an upcoming song, building anticipation for their musical project.
