Speaking at the service of songs held in Iwuanyanwu’s honor on Friday, October 18, at the National Christian Center, Abuja, Senator Ned Nwoko pointed out the statesman’s immense contributions to sports, philanthropy, aviation, and publishing. He described Chief Iwuanyanwu as an extraordinary leader whose influence spanned multiple fields. “Iwuanyanwu was an enigma—outstanding in so many areas. He assured me that the Igbos of the East would support the Igbos of Bendel in this effort. He gave me that confidence.”
The Distinguished lawmaker emphasized Iwuanyanwu’s legacy as a unifying leader within the Igbo community. “As the President General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, he brought us all together and worked tirelessly to foster unity among Igbos across different regions. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will endure.”
Chief Iwuanyanwu, widely regarded as a statesman and a pillar of the Igbo community, was remembered for his numerous contributions to Nigeria’s development, both in public service and in private enterprise. The service of songs was attended by family members, dignitaries, and members of the Igbo community who gathered to celebrate his life and legacy.
