QNET, a global direct-selling company operating through e-commerce, has formed a partnership with Manchester City Football Club (ManCity) with the aim of enhancing and elevating the standard of football in Nigeria.
Since 2014, QNET has been recognized as the official direct selling partner of ManCity, leveraging this association to promote and support football in Nigeria.
The primary objective of the QNETCity Coaching Clinic in Nigeria is to provide a platform for young football players from different states to come together, connect, and draw inspiration for a promising future.
During a media gathering in Abeokuta, Mr. Biram Fall, QNET’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, expressed his satisfaction with the organization of football activities in Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of utilizing technological advancements in skill development programs available to talented young football players in the country.
He further elaborated that these programs would assist the players in honing their skills in various areas such as passing, dribbling, and shooting, thus enabling them to embark on successful football careers.
Mr. Akeem Ajisafe, the Managing Director of Transblue Limited, QNET’s partner in Nigeria, also expressed enthusiasm about being part of this historic collaboration. He highlighted the need for greater support in nurturing children’s growth across all aspects of life.
In his statement, he outlined the partnership’s objective to enhance players’ skills, citing the positive encouragement from the community and coaches as well as the support for their business. He mentioned the possibility of establishing a football academy in Nigeria, in collaboration with their overseas partners, ManCity.
This initiative would involve selecting talented Nigerian players to be trained and potentially scouted by international clubs. While this future prospect is being considered, their current focus remains on improving the skills of Nigerian players, enabling them to compete globally and gain opportunities with new clubs.
Among the attendees at the gathering was Johannes Bonfrere, the former coach of the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.
