The Bauchi Police Command, on Saturday 16th September 2023, said its operatives have neutralised about 10 suspected kidnappers/bandits at Jan-Dutse situated in Yankari Forest and thereafter rescued 39 kidnap victims.
The kidnap victims consisting of 28 adult males, eight adult females, and three infants were rescued unhurt and subsequently reunited with their respective families after a medical check-up at the General Hospital in Alkaleri local government area of the State. Leadership reported.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, he said on the September 15, 2023, the Police Command’s Operation Sharan Daji team in conjunction with relevant stakeholders (Hunters) led by CSP Makama Magaji acted on credible intelligence and swiftly ransacked a suspected kidnapper’s enclave and engaged the culprits in a heavy gun battle.
He said the Police consequently emerged victorious as a result of superior firepower against the criminals, leading to the death of 10 criminals while others ran into different directions with bullet wounds.

Mannirul Hassan of Kafi; Aminu Alhaji Baushe of Anguwan Gyero; Rabiu Adamu of Alkaleri; Yahaya Abubakar of Alkaleri; Hamisu Hashim of Gaji Gamu, and Muhammadu Bello of Anguwan Gyero.
