The Edo State Government, under the leadership of former Governor Godwin Obaseki, has come under criticism for the prolonged delay in completing the 7.5km Temboga Road project in the state. The concerns regarding the Obaseki-led administration were raised in a statement issued on Sunday, by Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Monday Okpebholo.
In the statement, Itua slammed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction in Edo State, led by its publicity secretary, Chris Nehikhare, for what he described as an attempt to redeem its image despite the administration’s failure to deliver on key infrastructural projects during its tenure.
“The factional chapter of the depleted PDP is in a hurry to redeem itself,” Itua said. “For over a year, the PDP-led administration failed to complete a mere 7.5km road.”
Itua pointed out that the Obaseki administration abandoned or poorly executed several critical projects, adding that Governor Okpebholo was committed to completing them for the benefit of the people.
“Governor Okpebholo will not be distracted by retired politicians chasing clout and suffering from what can only be described as Post-Election Traumatic Disorder,” he added.
The Chief Press Secretary, assured Edo State residents that Governor Okpebholo would prioritize the delivery of infrastructure and economic opportunities, emphasizing the administration’s focus on good governance.
