A resilient 200-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state, Subair Enitan, has achieved a remarkable feat by completing a 58-hour hand wash-a-thon.
Enitan initiated this challenging endeavor on Friday afternoon, November 24, at the Student Union Building Motor park within the university campus, garnering support from thousands of fellow students.
Her motivation stemmed from a desire to establish a Guinness World Record for the longest hand cloth washing by an individual, a goal she set after applying for the record last June.
Throughout the endurance test, various students, artists, and university officials showed solidarity by visiting the task pavilion to cheer her on.
Enitan surpassed her initial plan of 50 hours, completing the 58-hour marathon on Monday. However, the rigorous feat took a toll on her health, leading to her admission to the institution’s clinic via the school ambulance for a medical check.
Expressing her fulfillment, Enitan shared her thoughts before heading to the clinic, highlighting the joy of accomplishing the task in the presence of her mother, Omogbolabo Afolake, who had been present at the venue for over two days.
“I am very fulfilled to have completed the task right in front of my mum, friends, and colleagues who thronged this venue to show love and support my ambition,” she said.
