The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has addressed concerns over the delay in the payment of June allowances to corps members, stating that the delay is due to the banks. In a statement released on Sunday, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, assured corps members that the NYSC management has completed all necessary arrangements for the payment since June 27.
According to Megwa, the remittances were made to the various banks on the same day, but the delay is a result of the banks’ administration of funds, as they are yet to credit the accounts of the corps members. The NYSC management is actively engaging with the banks to expedite the payment process and ensure that corps members receive their allowances for June without further delay.
Megwa urged corps members to remain calm, law-abiding, and dedicated to their national service duties. He assured them that the NYSC will continue to prioritize their welfare and address any issues related to it.
