In a recent interview on the popular podcast “With Chude,” Nollywood actor Jim Iyke opened up about his two failed marriages, acknowledging that he was responsible for their downfall. Despite keeping it private, he revealed that he has three children from his previous relationships.
Taking ownership of his mistakes, Jim Iyke emphasized his belief in not blaming others for his failures, quoting the saying, “To boss up, own up.” He reflected on the significant changes he underwent after losing his mother, who was his rock. During this challenging period, his sister was preparing for her wedding, and his wife was expecting their first child.
Struggling to cope with his grief, Jim Iyke channeled his emotions into becoming a dedicated stay-at-home dad, unintentionally neglecting his wife. He admitted, “I didn’t allow myself to grieve properly during my mother’s death and burial. But when I finally began to grieve, my wife was pregnant with our first son, and I couldn’t provide the love and support she deserved.” As a result, he became an overly obsessed father, pouring all his affection and attention into their son, while neglecting his role as a husband.
Eventually, his wife informed him that she no longer felt his presence, leading to their separation. However, they managed to part ways amicably, remaining friends despite the end of their romantic relationship.
