In a remarkable display of athleticism and determination, 17-year-old Philip Solomon, a student from Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, has achieved a monumental feat by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most skips on one foot in just 30 seconds.
Philip shattered the previous record on January 24, achieving an impressive 153 skips on one foot in just half a minute, surpassing the previous record set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh, whose record stood at 145 skips.
Inspired by Rasel’s accomplishment, Philip dedicated himself to training rigorously in order to claim the record. His efforts paid off, and he was thrilled to participate in a skipping world championship.
After four months of anticipation, Philip’s record-breaking feat was officially ratified by the Guinness World Record on Tuesday, May 23. The statement released on the Guinness World Record website reads as follows:
“The most skips in 30 seconds on one foot is 153, and was achieved by Philip Solomon (Nigeria), in Akure, Nigeria, on 24 January 2023.
Philip was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of their record attempt. He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship.”
