In a significant operation, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully intercepted a staggering 399 pieces of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) destined for Kaduna, with the arrest of the prime suspect, 33-year-old Oluwagbenga Leke. The operation unfolded on September 7 along the Mokwa-Jebba road and represents a crucial breakthrough in maintaining public safety.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, released a statement on Sunday, shedding light on the remarkable incident. According to the NDLEA, the suspect disclosed that he had received the explosives at a park in Ibadan, with the intention of delivering them to an undisclosed recipient in Kaduna.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the NDLEA promptly handed over both the suspect and the seized exhibits to military authorities in Niger for further investigation and action.
