In a successful operation, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a significant quantity of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, weighing approximately 76.9 kilograms. The illicit drugs were discovered inside four used vehicles contained in a shipment marked MSDU6686346 from Canada. This operation took place at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex in Onne, Rivers State.
The seizure occurred during a joint inspection conducted by NDLEA operatives and the Nigeria Customs Service between Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2. The decision to thoroughly examine the shipment was made based on prior intelligence received by the agency regarding the container.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, provided details about the operation, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to combatting drug trafficking.
