Napoli’s manager, Rudi Garcia, clarified that the club didn’t have any intentions to harm Victor Osimhen with the controversial TikTok video. The video, which seemed to mock Osimhen after he missed a penalty in their recent match against Bologna, led to Osimhen threatening legal action against the club and removing images of himself in Napoli’s jersey from his Instagram account. Prior to this incident, Osimhen had a heated exchange with Garcia when he was substituted during the Bologna match.
In the aftermath of Napoli’s 4-1 victory against Udinese, Garcia acknowledged that the club had faced some issues since the Bologna game. He emphasized that nobody had intended to be hurtful, neither the TikTok video nor Osimhen removing his photos from social media, and attributed these reactions to instinctive responses.
