Medvedev issues stark warning against UK troop deployment in Ukraine, says it could lead to World War III

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, has issued a stark warning about the potential for World War 3 if the UK sends troops to Ukrainian soil.

Medvedev’s concern was sparked by British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps’ consideration of deploying UK troops to provide training for Ukrainian soldiers on their own territory.

Medvedev stated that any British soldiers involved in training within Ukraine would be considered legitimate targets by Russian forces and would be “ruthlessly destroyed.”

In a post on Telegram, Medvedev expressed his frustration, saying,

“The number of leading idiots in NATO countries is growing. One newly minted cretin – the British Minister of Defence – decided to transfer English training courses for Ukrainian soldiers to the territory of Ukraine itself. These idiots are actively pushing us towards a Third World War. This will turn their instructors into a legal target for our armed forces, understanding perfectly well that they will be ruthlessly destroyed, and not as mercenaries, but namely as British NATO specialists.”

Furthermore, Medvedev cautioned that German factories producing Taurus missiles would also be at risk if they supplied these missiles to Kyiv. Moscow is concerned that these German-made missiles could potentially strike within Russian territory, threatening its supply lines to its army.

Notably, more than 20,000 Ukrainian recruits have received training in the UK since the beginning of 2022.

However, NATO members have refrained from conducting training programs within Ukraine due to the heightened risk of their personnel being targeted by Russia.
