A search is underway in eThekwini, South Africa, for a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend and attacking several family members.

The incident, fueled by allegations of infidelity, took place on Saturday at a residence on Mgabadeli Road in Phase 6, Waterloo, KZN.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to distress calls and arrived at the scene around 21:22. Upon their arrival, it was reported that two women had already been privately transported to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses detailed the confrontation saying, a man in his twenties, driven by anger over suspicions of infidelity, confronted his girlfriend at her home. He then proceeded to stab her and forcibly took her to his own residence nearby.

As the violent episode escalated, his mother intervened, resulting in her being stabbed with a knife that later broke during the altercation.

In a further display of aggression, the man broke a glass bottle and injured his mother’s arm. During the chaos, his 39-year-old paraplegic uncle tried to intervene using his wheelchair, only to be assaulted by the suspect. The suspect also targeted his 76-year-old grandmother. Before fleeing the scene, he damaged several windows.

Authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspect, urging anyone with information to come forward.
