The spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, has confirmed the death of a 43-year-old man, Muhammadu Ali who was shot while experimenting with a bulletproof charm in Bauchi State, Northeast Nigeria.
According to the police, Ali was shot dead while testing the protective charm he had collected from a herbalist.
Ahmed Wakil, on Wednesday, said “We got to the scene and rushed Mr. Ali to the hospital, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead.”
Wakil, further advised the public to desist from patronizing herbalists who defraud unsuspecting victims in this manner.
He disclosed that “The herbalist in question is in our custody; we are also on the trail of two accomplices. They would be charged to court after investigation”.
People are seeking protection from herbalists which often leads to loss of lives, as violent crimes across northern Nigeria.
