In the confines of Sherbagh Zoo in Bahawalpur, India, a grim incident unfolded as “a man has been mauled to death by a tiger,” with the man’s half-eaten body discovered by cleaning staff.
Shockingly, one of the three tigers was found parading around the enclosure with a shoe in its mouth, drawing attention to the tragic event.
According to an official, “The tigers did not go out of the den to attack the man; he jumped into their enclosure.” Expressing a commitment to address any security lapse, the official stated, “If we find a security lapse, we will address it. If need be, we will hire private security guards.”
The victim’s identity remains a mystery, and no family has stepped forward to claim the remains. In response to the incident, the zoo promptly closed its doors.
Zaheer Anwar, an official, referred to the deceased as a “lunatic,” asserting that “a sensible person would not jump into an apex predator’s den.” Anwar speculated, “You can see the den is secured. There are stairs behind the den, maybe he jumped from there.”
This shocking revelation has reverberated through the local community, with emergency services noting that the body appeared to have been in the enclosure for several hours before removal.
Despite concerted efforts, the victim’s identity remains elusive, leaving unanswered questions surrounding the circumstances leading to this tragic and fatal encounter especially since all the staff of the zoo have been accounted for.
