The Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, Idowu Owohunwa, has disclosed that the injection administered on Mohbad by an auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, resulted in the singer’s tragic death on Tuesday, September 12. During a press conference held at the state headquarters on October 6, Owohunwa revealed that five suspects have been arrested and interrogated in connection with the sequence of events leading to the singer’s demise.
“The auxiliary nurse, who was contacted by Ayobami Sadiq aka Spending, a friend of Mohbad on September 11, 2023, to treat the singer at his residence in Lekki, came on September 12, 2023, and administered three different injections. These injections are believed to have triggered a chain of reactions directly leading to the singer’s eventual death.”
“She is the primary suspect in Mohbad’s death, and she admitted that it was the injection she administered that caused the reactions leading to his death. Expert opinions and witness statements corroborated her confession. The injections she administered included Tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, intravenous, and cetrazone, with the latter administered intravenously. These injections immediately led to reactions such as vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions, ultimately resulting in the singer’s death.”
Owohunwa emphasized that the auxiliary nurse was not qualified to administer such injections, particularly in a non-clinical setting.
Additionally, Ayobami Sadiq, also known as Spending, who invited the auxiliary nurse to attend to Mohbad under non-clinical circumstances, is being held on suspicion of conspiracy in the singer’s death.
“He is suspected of conspiring in the singer’s death by inviting an auxiliary nurse, known to him, to treat the deceased outside of a clinical setting. His actions contributed to Mohbad’s death, and he is being held for conspiracy to commit a felony.”
