Aloy Ejimakor, the special counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), strongly criticizes the Lagos State government and Bola Tinubu for demolishing Igbo properties, labeling it as cowardly.
He calls for a Biafra referendum instead of the continued destruction of Igbo properties, stating,
“If you want Igbos out of Lagos or Nigeria, stop demolishing their properties; that’s cowardly. Instead, do a referendum on Biafra and brace for the resounding result.”
Amid ongoing demolitions in Lagos, reports reveal that properties owned by Igbo residents, including former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike’s house, are being targeted despite having received due approval.
Concurrently, Kanu’s family directs their plea to President Tinubu, urging compliance with Court of Appeal judgments for the immediate release of the detained IPOB leader.
They demand transparency from the Department of State Services (DSS). Prince Emmanuel Kanu expresses concern, stating,
“For two consecutive times, Kanu was denied access to visitors, including his lawyers,” and highlights the violation of court orders, adding, “Only two out of the three family members authorized by the Court to visit him were allowed to see him while the third family member was turned back.”
In response to these actions, Kanu’s younger brother emphasizes the historical context, stating, “Igbos have had enough, from the pogrom to now,” and demands explanations from the DSS regarding the secrecy surrounding Kanu’s confinement.
He expresses worries about Kanu’s health, particularly the condition of his leg, underscoring the family’s growing concerns.
