Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, senator representing Delta North senatorial district, just arrived in Asaba to a warm and enthusiastic welcome from a jubilant crowd of constituents.
Affectionately known as “Dike Anioma” by his people, Senator Nwoko’s deep-rooted connection with the Anioma community was unmistakably demonstrated as he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome at Asaba International Airport.
Responding to brief interview questions by reporters at the airport about his involvement in various Senate committees, Senator Nwoko, a notable presence on the Senate floor, explained that his committee choices reflect his top priorities.
Remarkably, Senator Nwoko holds membership in a total of seventeen Senate committees, covering crucial areas such as Defence, Police, TETFUND, Environment, Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, Drugs and Narcotics, Works, Youths and Sports, Communication, Gas, NDDC, and more. Notably, he serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment.
The senator, again, emphasized his special focus on the Ndokwa Nation within his senatorial district, a region that has endured significant environmental degradation and gas flaring due to the operations of International Oil Companies (IOCs). Despite being a major hub for crude oil and gas production in the nation, the Ndokwa people have not received adequate compensation from both the government and the oil companies. Senator Nwoko has consistently voiced his dissatisfaction with this situation and is determined to ensure that the Ndokwa people receive the just compensation they rightly deserve.
There’s no doubt that Senator Nwoko’s effective service and dedication have earned him the profound love and admiration of his constituents.
