Jimmy Odukoya, the eldest son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the founder of the Fountain of Life Church, has been named as the new general overseer of the denomination, according to reports by Peoples Gazette.

The announcement came during a Sunday service and was made by Rotimi Okpaise, who stated that Mr. Jimmy, a renowned Nollywood actor and musician, was chosen unanimously by the board of trustees (BoT).

Mr. Okpaise also highlighted that Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the church’s late founder who passed away at the age of 67 in the United States in August, had shared his succession plan with the BoT members before his demise.

“The board has selected Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date for Jimmy’s installation,” Mr. Okpaise informed the congregation. As part of his new role, Mr. Jimmy will serve as the senior pastor of the church and chairperson of the board.

Jimmy Odukoya is widely recognized for his starring role as ‘Oba Ade’ in Netflix’s ‘Woman King’ movie. He has also featured in other notable films such as ‘Lifting the Veil,’ ‘I am Nazzy,’ and ‘Oga Pastor,’ among others.
