Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State has taken the decision to terminate the appointments of all political office holders who were appointed prior to May 29, 2023.
In an official statement released on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, it was announced that Governor Bago has ordered the immediate dissolution and termination of these appointments.
Additionally, all statutory Commissions, Boards, and Parastatals in the state have been dissolved by the governor.
The SSG clarified that both tenured and non-tenured Commissions, Boards, and Parastatals are affected by this dissolution, and urged all relevant officials to promptly comply with the directive.
While acknowledging the positive contributions made by these individuals to the development of the State and their respective offices, the SSG instructed those affected by the dissolution to hand over all Government properties, including official vehicles, to the most senior directors within their organizations.
Governor Bago expressed his well-wishes to the members of the dissolved Commissions, Boards, Parastatals, and Political Appointees, and wished them success in their future endeavors.
