The Federal Government emphasizes the importance of recognizing and rewarding children who display acts of bravery, whether in the realms of intellect, physical prowess, or social impact. These commendable actions contribute to the betterment of society and should be acknowledged to inspire further acts of courage.
Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, conveyed this message during the presentation of a one-million-naira scholarship award by Dufil Prima Foods Limited to three exceptional Nigerian children in honor of their outstanding displays of social, physical, and intellectual bravery.
In her words, “The award is worthy of emulation, as it is capable of spurring other children in the country, not only into heroic acts but also in developing social consciousness about acceptable norms and values that shape the culture, religious, ethnic, and diversity of the Nigerian people.”
A communiqué released by the Head of Press & Public Relations of the Ministry, Grace Njoku, reiterated Barrister Kennedy-Ohanenye’s commitment to President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s dedication to the welfare and development of Nigerian children, women, and persons living with disabilities, with a focus on providing them with a sense of belonging.
The minister emphasized that her ministry will continue to collaborate with and support relevant stakeholders to realize the government’s policy objective in this regard.
While commending Dufil Prima Foods for their consistent recognition of outstanding Nigerian children since 2008, she urged other corporate entities, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and well-meaning Nigerians to participate in such noble initiatives and collaborate with the Federal government to foster the development of Nigerian children.
