In a recent statement, the Delta State Police Command asserted its authority, stating that Nigerians exhibiting suspicious wealth without justifiable means of income could face investigation and court charges.
Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe expressed concern over the prevailing reluctance to question such wealth, pointing to instances of kidnapping, ritual killings, and internet fraud in the country.
Edafe emphasized, “It is a very sad trend that people feel it’s wrong to question the suspicious wealth of persons who cannot lay claim to any justifiable means of income.
He urged police operatives to act responsibly, cautioning against using the scrutiny of legitimate income sources as a pretext for extortion
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Edafe stated,
“We have cases of ritual killings, Kidnapping, and even internet fraud.”
Edafe concluded by stressing the importance of proper investigation and legal proceedings, saying,
“However, any person arrested and can’t justify his source of income should be properly investigated and charged to court when the cockroach in his cupboard has been unveiled. Like me, hate me, I don’t mind, it’s the simple truth
