The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, reserved its decision on three appeals seeking to invalidate Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s election in Delta State. The appeals were filed by the APC’s Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, SDP’s Kenneth Gbaji, and LP’s Ken Pela.
The five-member panel, led by Justice Inyang Okoro, approved the appeals for judgment after final arguments were presented. The appellants challenged the Court of Appeal’s November 24 judgment in Lagos, which upheld Oborevwori’s win, citing issues like improper recording of election results and irregularities in Electoral Act compliance.
Omo-Agege highlighted result recording discrepancies, while Gbaji questioned Oborevwori’s eligibility and Pela sought a fresh election. The Supreme Court will inform all parties of the judgment date.
INEC had previously declared Oborevwori of the PDP winner with 360,234 votes over Omo-Agege of the APC, who secured 240,229 votes.
