Renowned singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, took the stage at the Celestial Church of Christ, Goshen Land Cathedral, in Lagos State on Friday, December 15, despite earlier controversies.
Two weeks prior, the church had sparked online debates after announcing Portable as a guest artiste through a flyer.
In response to widespread criticism, the church retracted its invitation, stating that the singer would no longer perform. Despite this, Portable remained adamant about participating in the church event.
True to his commitment, Portable arrived at the venue for the praise night on Friday, captivating the congregation with his performance. The church program also featured Fuji singer Pasuma.
Just before Portable’s performance, the pastor acknowledged the draw the artist had, noting that some attendees were specifically drawn to the event because of his presence.
