In the midst of the competition for ministerial appointments, the APC Youth Development and Solidarity Forum (APC-YDSF) has urged President Bola Tinubu to consider Mr. Michael Achadu from Benue for a ministerial appointment. The group’s president, Mr. Tobias Ogbeh, conveyed this message during a press conference held in Abuja on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
It is worth noting that Tinubu is expected to submit the names of ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation by July 28, 2023, in order to meet the legal deadline. Additionally, Achadu is recognized as one of the most dedicated and influential members of the forum.
Ogbeh emphasized that nominating Achadu would exemplify the APC as a party that values loyalty, dedication, and commitment. He viewed it as an honorable gesture for Tinubu to reward individuals who invested their time, energy, and goodwill in securing APC’s victory throughout the country.
“Some of those currently vying for appointments within the Presidency have made negligible contributions to the party’s success in Benue,” Ogbeh asserted. “We are aware of the lobbying efforts taking place in both Benue and Abuja. However, we must face the truth and question the contributions of those who failed to deliver their polling units or wards in the last elections. What role did they play in the party’s triumph during the general elections? On the other hand, individuals like Michael Achadu genuinely believed in Tinubu’s presidential aspirations.”
Ogbeh further highlighted Achadu’s exceptional competence, technical expertise, and philanthropic endeavors, making him the most suitable candidate for the ministerial position from Benue. He described Achadu as an exemplar of diligent service, a consummate business mogul with global economic expertise, and a beacon of hope for the younger generation.
By advocating for Achadu’s appointment, the APC Youth Development and Solidarity Forum aims to recognize and appreciate those who have made substantial contributions to the party’s cause, paving the way for a more inclusive and merit-based approach in selecting government officials.
