A fleeing suspect who was nabbed by Delta police command on Thursday has provided details about why he escaped with a Mercedez Benz GLB 250 4MATIC car worth approximately N55 million during a test drive in Abuja.
Recall that this medium reported that the car was stolen in Abuja on June 30 and eventually found abandoned in a bush along Oteri Road, near Doctors Quarters in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on July 3.
The 25-year-old suspect, identified as Meshach Siunuphro, was subsequently apprehended in Benin City, Edo State.
Siunuphro, who claims to be a 300-level student of Business Administration in Turkey, stated that he was under the influence of hypnosis, adding that he is involved in forex trading and had intended to acquire the car for personal use.
During the suspect’s presentation to the public, Bright Edafe, the Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), took the opportunity to caution car dealers and owners about a new tactic employed by criminals to steal vehicles from individuals.
He specifically advised against handing over car keys to attendants at car wash centers.
