Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola has mourned the loss of Herbert Wigwe, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, his wife, and son.
The business man while sharing cherished memories and extending condolences to the family, prayed for their comfort and peace.
He also recounted how the late Herbert hosted him and fellow businessman Aliko Dangote in his new mansion two weeks before his death.
Wigwe, his wife, and son were aboard an ill-fated helicopter that crashed near the Nevada border in California, United States, on Friday.
Abimbola Ogunbajo, former chairman of the Nigeria Exchange Group, was also on board the helicopter, along with two others.
Authorities in the United States reported that preliminary assessments indicated that the crash was caused by rain and wintry conditions.
The billionaire on his “X” account reacting to the death, described it as a loss of “a banking genius”.
He stated that he will cherish the memories of time they spent together. Otedola extended his deepest condolences to Wigwe’s children, Tochi, Hannah, and David, offering prayers for comfort and strength during this difficult period.
He wrote, “I am shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of a banking genius Herbert Wigwe, his dear wife Chizoba and first son Chizi.
“Exactly two weeks ago Herbie and his wife hosted myself and Aliko to dinner at his newly built home in Lagos. I will cherish and fondly remember my memories of time spent together with him over the years.
“Herbie, we will all miss you “Your legacy will live on forever.
